This South Beach original came off the heals of crobar Miami. The client, wanting a South Beach version of Ian Schrager’s ever-popular Sky Bar, was insistent on a pool vibe. Although there was significant outdoor space, there also was no pool. While Sky Bar revolves around the pool, our concept was to revolve inside the pool. We designed an 80-foot inside out floating ceiling feature that not only connected the inside to the outside but was lit with color changing LED’s thus creating the effect of the swimming pool feature over head. High-velocity aqua misters were also installed to create a fine mist of water overhead to punctuate the illusion and tactile sensation of water. The story clearly drove the concept and nightclub design of this south beach hip haven.
