The clients had a unique vision in this Chicago project. The combination of fine dining, a stylish lounge with a high-tech twist on technology. A signature element was the D.J. in the dining room and a video camera in the kitchen to engage the diner in the food preparation experience. The core space was a typical Chicago brick interior, rectilinear in shape. To soften its rough interior and to add visual excitement, a 60′ barrel vault ceiling was inserted in the interior to add a soft sexuality to an otherwise generic space. In order to avoid the cliche of the name Glow, design development was paramount in creating delicate yet powerful elements inside the space that did indeed glow. Significant features are the compound curved glowing bar and video hidden behind sand blasted mirrors.
