With the success of Township Tallahassee, our client approached us to design a sister location on the heels of an award winning restaurant design in Fort Lauderdale, FL. We introduced elements to add touch of industrialism and the passage of time. A repurposed shipping container conceals the stairwell of an adjacent space, an interior room opened to include garage doors provides private dining space, and finally, the bar is comprised of earthen materials often found in and around factories. Due to the size of the space, creating a sense of community and intimacy throughout the space was paramount. Community tables face a performance stage in the largest open air room, the secondary bar acts as a second gathering space with a lounge fitted with low seating and an approachable vibe. Township is the modern day beer hall with room for everyone expressed in the wall sized graphic stating, “For the Table, by the People.”
