This 2008 Club World Award winner for best interior renovation was historic in many ways. Home to the infamous Cameo Theater during the 1930′s through the 1970′s as a debaucheries movie house and live music venue. For the millennium it became home to what has now been ground zero to one of the most famous nightclubs to date in nightclub history; Crobar. One of the biggest design challenges was to preserve the historic bones of the original grand architecture while creating a world-class nightclub with contemporary architecture and flow befitting a nightlife behemoth. The melding of historic art deco architecture with a complex schematic design and big scale club elements are two components, which helped make The Cameo, a recognizable name in nightclub design.
